Time To Hit The River Folks!!!

Time To Hit the River Folks!!!

I know ya'll all say that this time of the year is canoe-able since you can not get in the river, but that's BS and we all know it. The fact remains that the two best times to be on the river in South Mississisppi is April and November. This allows you to get the full range of vibrant green "birth" in the Spring to the fall colors of "death" that we all see on T.V. Well, today were in the birth stage of the process and wanted to see what the lower part of the river looked like after Katrina. Glad we retired her name because I am sure glad not to hear it.

Let's get down to the action...We went to the landings and expected them to be open, but you
can't even park there!!! So, this was not in the plans and neither was paying a canoe rental shop some money, but if you want to play you gotta pay. In other words, the canoe landings were not open to the public because they were afraid that trees with dangling limbs from Katrina would foul up someone's car.....leaving the canoe rental businesss to extort you for not being able to park there...such BS. So let's getter started after dealing with these issues

Here's Jed showing his better looking end to us.

Here I am making Angels in the sand....

Here's a gorgeous shot of the Black..

The ye-little troling motor helped because we had to go 10 miles in 5 hours...thank the big bang for electric energy....

Here's these two idiots that never did paddle (especially with the trolling motor present)...

Here's most of us (except the one taking the pic)

Here's Josh and Trish standing next to the fire....these woods burn like match sticks and have no comparison to the woods we camped in near Tennessee...that wood was saturated with water and we could have never have dreamed of having a fire this big on any night...

Here's one crazy pic of me that Josh was seeing at the time...

And to top it off here's one in the fire....

See Ya...
